Today, I want to chat a little less about Botox and a little more about something close to my heart: my personal weight loss journey with the help of EVRI's GLP-1 program. As someone who stands at 5'1", losing 33 pounds has been a transformative experience for me. The only thing I regret? Not starting GLP-1 medication sooner! 😅
My Weight Struggles
Real talk, I have always yo-yo’d with my weight over the years. I've tried every diet and exercise plan under the sun. I have done the fad diets, I have learned and done things “the right way” which- diet and exercise guys, it’s a no brainer, it will ALWAYS be the number one way to lose weight sustainably. I’m not here to tell you otherwise. But… after having two kids (breastfeeding both), running the two studio locations, and launching a third business, I found myself feeling completely exhausted and overwhelmed with… well, just about everything. Despite hitting the gym a couple days a week, I wasn't making any progress, because I really didn't have the mental capacity to fully dedicate myself. My fellow moms out there can probably relate to this exhaustion—both mentally and physically. 😔It’s just a LOT.
Discovering GLP-1 Medication in Delaware
A turning point came when a friend of mine started taking compounded semaglutide. Of course I’d heard about it in the media, but I had never actually met anyone on it, that I knew. Curious, I asked her, "Aren't you worried about possible long-term effects?" She responded, "Honestly, obesity does far worse to your body, so really, I have nothing to lose." This sparked my interest further…
I did my own research and consulted trusted medical providers in my circle. They informed me that this medication has actually been used in patients for close to 20 years with minimal issues. In fact, numerous documented medical studies highlight its benefits, including reducing body inflammation, reversing PCOS and fertility issues, and aiding in various other conditions. Whether it’s the weight loss or the medication itself… it's making a difference.
Starting My GLP-1 Journey
I began researching places in Delaware that offered GLP-1 medications. The options were limited and prices varied greatly. I decided to start with friends in the industry whom I trusted. I lost most of my weight in the first 5-6 months. When @theevriinjector and I partnered together, I convinced her to bring this program on board with me. I knew if it made such a big difference in my life, it could help others struggling with similar issues.
GLP-1 Weight Loss Results
I feel SO much better now—happier and more confident in my own body. I finally recognize myself again! Looking back at a video I took a month before starting the medication last summer, I can't believe how puffy and swollen I looked. Being 5'1", those 30+ pounds made a significant difference. Recently, after about a year on the medication, I switched over to Tirzepatide. Both Semaglutide and Trizepatide are great, and I wanted to make sure that before we started offering Tirzepatide, I could feel the results or difference for myself. I am on my 5th week of Tirzepatide and I am down a few more lbs (on a smaller dose). So that’s been cool!
I finally recognize myself again!
I'm so happy I started this journey. For anyone out there considering GLP-1 medication, I can honestly say it's been life-changing for me.
